Is the procedure painful? 

​

​Not at all! Most patients feel little or no discomfort during LASIK/Laser. You will remain awake and alert during the procedure. Anesthetic eye drops will be used to avoid discomfort. Some patients report a mild burning sensation, which usually goes away by the next morning.

My work requires long hours on the computer screen ,when can I go back to work and resume normal activity and using screens?
​

The recovery after lasik procedure is 3 hours only , so you can get back to your normal work by the next day . Recovery after Laser is 3 days, most people can resume their work by the 4th day.

Using screens is allowed , taking into consideration that you will be using the eye drops that the doctor prescribes for you, as well as following the general recommendations from ophthalmologists such as the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, shift your eyes to look at an object at least 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds.

Is Lasik/laser permanent?​
​

LASIK is considered a permanent procedure, but it's important to note that your eyes can still change over time due to factors like aging (presbyopia, cataract..)or other health issues such as uncontrollled diabetes. Lasik will not prevent these issues. Some patients may require enhancements or touch-up procedures later in life.

Is the procedure safe?
​

Lasik is the safest procedure in medical practice with 99.9% of highly predictable results.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recognizes LASIK as a safe and effective treatment. The procedure is performed with a cool, highly accurate beam of laser light. There are many important safeguards in place to reduce the risk of surgical errors. 

Can I drive after the procedure?​
​

Although the results of lasik (clarity of vision) can be felt immediately after the procedure, it is recommended to wait at least 3 hours (or the recovery period) to start driving.

When can I wear makeup after the surgery ?
​

To avoid risk of infection, it is recommended to avoid wearing eye makeup for at least the first 2 weeks after procedure.

When should I remove my contact lenses?
​

It is recommended to remove your contact lenses at least 1 day prior to your consultation.

What is the ideal age for lasik?
​

Lasik can be done from 18 years to 59 years of age.

Can I do lasik while pregnant ? Can I do lasik if I am on Roaccutane treatment?
​

No.
It is recommended to wait 6 weeks after delivery , and 3 months after stopping Roaccutane
